Democrats face accusations of exploiting crises like air traffic control outages in Newark, Atlanta, and a brief communication loss in Denver’s FAA center to instill fear, with critics alleging they wish for disasters to undermine Trump’s administration. A New Jersey Transit strike strands 350,000 commuters, exacerbating tensions. The GOP’s “Big Beautiful Bill,” a massive budget reconciliation package, sparks fierce debate. Republicans propose $880 billion in Medicaid cuts, targeting “able-bodied” adults with work requirements, which Democrats decry as cruel, warning millions could lose coverage. The bill, offsetting $4.5 trillion in tax breaks, faces resistance from moderates and conservatives like Chip Roy and Andrew Clyde, who demand deeper cuts and reforms to curb Medicaid fraud and coverage for undocumented immigrants. Rand Paul slams the bill’s $5 trillion debt ceiling hike, calling it a betrayal of fiscal conservatism. California grapples with a $12 billion deficit, borrowing to sustain Medicaid expansion for illegals, while Georgia’s “Pathways to Coverage” ties Medicaid to work requirements. Political gridlock threatens the bill’s passage, with Democrats eyeing a midterm comeback by framing GOP cuts as heartless, while voters demand accountability amid rising deficits and bureaucratic waste.

  • Democrats are evil people. If only they could get a plane to fall out of the sky. New air traffic control outages in Newark and Atlanta. The FAA air traffic control center in Denver briefly lost communication. If there is a lost bleep they are tagging it and reporting on it to invoke fear.
  • New Jersey transit engineers, trainmen strike, stranding potentially 350K commuters.
  • The Big Beautiful Bill they keep stalking about. In America we don’t get a budget. Democrats and Republicans can’t agree on a budget. Everything they do is all about advancing their political career. It is not about the American people. We can vote on 12 separate bills then put them together and vote on it. We are in the world of the omnibus. We have this massive megabill. We have medicaid and the democrats brought in all the people in wheelchairs. And the republicans said two words, able bodied. If you are able bodied you need to work. Democrats want to translate that the republicans are kicking poor people off medicaid. We have to have cuts. We have to get rid of the waste and fraud and cut the behemoth of the bureaucracies in America. Lawmakers, particularly those in the GOP are actively blocking legislation that would implement significant budget cuts proposed by DOGE. You are not hearing republicans coming to the podium saying that Trump has a decisive mandate. The lawmakers would say right after he won that he boldly won and had a mandate. Since taking office you don’t hear that same boldness. How strong is that boldness coming from leadership? American people know that the cuts are necessary. They don’t want to hear the DOGE cuts and a group of republicans are leading the way.
  • Democrats plot a midterm comeback fueled by republican medicaid cuts. The health coverage cutbacks in the emerging tax bill are a potential gift to a minority party that is still trying to rebuild. Medicaid expansion is code for theft, corruption and socialized medicine but most of all giving illegals healthcare that the American people don’t have. RFK Jr, Chip Roy and Andrew Clyde have done the ultimate sin in saying Able Bodied.
  • Medicare and Medicaid Act 1965. President Lyndon B Johnson signed the medicare and medicaid act also known as the social security amendments of 1965 into law. It established medicare a health insurance program for the elderly and medicaid a health insurance program for people with limited income through federal block grants. Each state manages its own medicaid, medicare is handled federally. Medicaid is free for most medical services, Medicare has premiums and doesn’t cover all medical services.
  • Rand Paul hits a big beautiful bill as a slap in the face. The problem is asking conservatives to raise the debt ceiling $5T. That’s historic, no one ever raised the debt ceiling that much. You have this group including republicans that want to get everyone medicaid including illegals. It is really a slap in the face at those who are excited about DOGE and all the cuts. The bill will be a record for congress to raise the debt 5 trillion dollars Rand Paul continued but it also indicates that this year the deficit will be over 2 trillion but it means they are anticipating close to 3 trillion for the next year. Andrew Clyde opposes the bill. There are enough republicans willing to vote no with the democrats that could stall the bill. Clyde said he wants language added to remove the federal tax on firearm suppressors and Clyde wants the cuts in medicaid spending to go further by revising the formula used to determine the amount states pay. Under the current budget reconciliation bill workforce requirements for able-bodied adults on Medicaid doesn’t kick in until 2029. Even then they are subject to massive waivers. Republicans have a critical choice: either worsen the Obamacare explosion of Medicaid or fix its flaws to ensure medicaid works for the vulnerable Americans it was originally intended to serve.
  • If you live in a low tax state the SALT tax is not a problem for you, but if you live in NY, CA then it is a big deal. To offset the taxes you pay in blue states.
  • All they are interested in is a political winner. A republican in name only and their educated staffer comes in with polling data and touting the disaster the country is in. They will save their own butt rather than doing the right things. Medicaid is very important for the states. It was intentionally done this way in 1965. They knew this day would come. They knew they had to do things to hold control over the states. We talk about limited government in our states and the federal hold over our states. In 1965 they tied the states to the federal government, they had to have these block grants, it’s the drug, it’s the money. Medicaid is a joint federal and state program. California is facing a significant medicaid funding shortfall due to the expansion of coverage to immigrants (illegals) and the potential for federal cuts. While the state has taken steps to address the shortfall including borrowing money and expanding its budget. It’s grappling with the possibility of losing millions in federal medicaid funding. Gov Newsom outlines a $12B deficit and a freeze on immigrants’ (illegals) health care access. California is borrowing money to sustain a $322B budget. RFK has told you that there are millions of illegals in the medicaid system, millions double dipping in several states, and is requiring that able-bodied work to receive medicaid.
  • Georgia is one of several states that have decided to expand Medicaid under the affordable care act including those that are considering block grants. Georgia launched the “pathways to coverage” program which required work requirements for eligibility. Thankful Georgia has declined the block grants.
  • The big beautiful bill is in jeopardy. If we can get all the tax cuts and we don’t have any spending cuts and have an increase of $5T. We have to question if we will get anywhere and the thought is that we will go backwards.
