Trump’s White House Meetings, Shapiro Arson Attack, and 2028 Political Ambitions

Trump hosts the Ital­ian Prime Min­is­ter and plans to meet El Salvador’s pres­i­dent at the White House, with Sec­re­tary of State Rubio announc­ing the depor­ta­tion of 10 gang mem­bers to El Sal­vador. Trump clar­i­fies he lacks author­i­ty to order the release of a pris­on­er. Mark Zuckerberg’s pur­chase of a man­sion near Trump is not­ed, along­side a legal case involv­ing him start­ing today. A Wis­con­sin teen accused of killing his par­ents alleged­ly planned to assas­si­nate Trump, per his man­i­festo. In Penn­syl­va­nia, Gov. Josh Shapiro’s home was arson­ed by sus­pect Cody Balmer dur­ing Passover, with the text claim­ing Shapiro, a Jew­ish Demo­c­rat, knew the 2020 elec­tion was “stolen” but allowed Trump’s 2024 win to posi­tion him­self for a 2028 pres­i­den­tial run as the first Jew­ish pres­i­dent. Shapiro declined Kamala Harris’s VP offer, wary of a los­ing tick­et or a long VP tenure, aim­ing to pre­serve his inde­pen­dent path to 2028 while build­ing bipar­ti­san sup­port. MSNBC is accused of fram­ing the arson as polit­i­cal vio­lence.

Josh Shapiro turned down Kamala’s team offer to be a run­ning mate. They want­ed to the blue wall, they knew that in polling that PA was on the verge of flip­ping. Shapiro turned down Kamala, had he gone on the tick­et Kamala may have won PA. But Shapiro knew it would be a dis­as­ter. Or if Kamala won a sec­ond term he would have to be there 8 years before run­ning. He is inter­est­ed in being the first Amer­i­can Jew­ish Pres­i­dent of the Unit­ed States. He has a game plan. There is a lot on the table if he is on the tick­et to bring it over to the democ­rats. Now he has repub­li­cans on his team. But he will make a run for office in 2028.
