Van Hollen’s El Salvador Trip Sparks Outrage: Ignores Border Crisis and J6 Injustice

Mary­land Sen­a­tor Chris Van Hollen trav­eled to El Sal­vador to advo­cate for the release of Kil­mar Abrego Gar­cia, a deport­ed Sal­vado­ran nation­al held in the CECOT prison, while ignor­ing press­ing domes­tic issues like vis­it­ing the U.S. bor­der or meet­ing with Angel Moms, fam­i­lies of vic­tims killed by undoc­u­ment­ed immi­grants, includ­ing a recent Mary­land case involv­ing the mur­der of Rachel Morin. Con­trast­ing Van Hollen’s efforts with the lack of due process for Jan­u­ary 6 (J6) defen­dants, who were unjust­ly jailed for four years. Next in the Pen­ta­gon, Defense Sec­re­tary Pete Hegseth is tar­get­ing Biden loy­al­ists with­in the Depart­ment of Defense, with Sean Par­nell, the new chief Pen­ta­gon spokesman, close­ly aligned with him. Ques­tions why sim­i­lar account­abil­i­ty efforts are not being pur­sued at the Nation­al Secu­ri­ty Coun­cil (NSC), Direc­tor of Nation­al Intel­li­gence (DNI), and Depart­ment of Jus­tice (DOJ).

• Van Hollen flew to El Sal­vador to get some­one out of prison, nev­er vis­it­ed the bor­der, nev­er vis­it­ed Angel Moms who had chil­dren killed by ille­gals, just last week some­one killed by an ille­gal in Mary­land. But where was the due process for the J6ers that were left to rot in jail for 4 years. 
• The very first thing that should have been done.. Would be to look for all the Biden loy­al­ists. Every­time you see Pete Hegseth, Par­nell is stand­ing next to him. Now this is the largest bud­get in the US. Hegseth is look­ing for the holdovers. Notice the effort for Pete Hegseth. But there isn’t an effort to demand account­abil­i­ty at the NSC, DNI and DOJ. 
• Hegseth is said to have shared attack details in Sec­ond Sig­nal chat. John Ully­ot has just resigned as top Pen­ta­gon spokesman. Sean Par­nell is the chief pen­ta­gon spokesman.
