The Georgia Hour, episode 66: Grassroots Fight to Reclaim the Georgia GOP from Establishment Control

This podcast discusses the grassroots movement to reform the Georgia Republican Party (GAGOP), accusing it of being overtaken by establishment figures like Governor Brian Kemp and Chairman Josh McKoon, who allegedly seek to “de-MAGA” the party. It highlights the upcoming district conventions across Georgia’s 14 districts, focusing on North Georgia’s 7th, 9th, 11th, and 14th districts, which are seen as conservative strongholds resisting establishment control. McKoon is criticized for not fulfilling his promise to remove “Inc” from the party name, while his ally, Salleigh Grubbs, is linked to Cobb County’s shift toward Democrats. The podcast claims the establishment is targeting conservative district chairs like David Oles and Richard Jordan to consolidate power. It also accuses Debbie Dooley of abandoning Trump support to back establishment candidate Stephen Aaron in the 9th district, despite her past MAGA advocacy. Concerns are raised about a restrictive 9‑page NDA issued by the GAGOP, allegedly to limit delegate access and interfere with elections. The podcast urges the Georgia Republican Assembly (GRA) to withdraw McKoon’s endorsement and emphasizes the need to stop establishment candidates to protect conservative values and ensure true Republican representation

  • WE are working to drain the GOP swamp and clean up the GA GOP Inc and return it to the people. We want our republican lawmakers to acknowledge the party once again. Brian Kemp the governor made changes where the lawmakers do not recognise the party again. The true grassroots are working to take it back. If we don’t take back the chances of getting our representatives to pay attention to the people it may be the end.
  • This weekend is our district convention, we have 14 districts.  Josh McKoon is the chairman and he made the campaign promise that he would remove the Inc from the party, but he has not. His running mate Salleigh Grubbs who has the only metro county that went more blue in the last election. The establishment has been trying to conquer the North GA districts. They have already conquered the 14th. They are working on the 7th, 9th and 11th. They are trying to take the chair from David Oles, a conservative and give it to Melanie Cowart. They are trying to take the 7th from Richard Jordan. If they can take the 4 districts in North Georgia the establishment will own the state. These 4 districts were the strongest opponents to Brian Kemp. They are trying to de-MAGA the party and de-MAGA Georgia. There is a lot of Trump baggage in Georgia. 2016 Trump won the election. 2018 Trump had a problem with Kemp when Johnny Issacson, in 2018 it was decided that Trump would not win the 2020 election in Georgia. Kemp has not liked Trump in a long time. But Trump is very strong in the 7, 9, 11, and 14. Trump got involved in the primary in 2022 against the establishment. The best way to de-MAGA Georgia is to attack the most conservative part of the state. The GRA should immediately pull their endorsement of Josh McKoon because of their conservative values they have in their paperwork is not Josh McKoon. If they can just get rid of Trump in the 9th district, the coveted prize.
  • Debbie Dooley has sold out Donald Trump.
  • Michael Whatley is coming to the 9th district Friday night. Why are they fighting so hard to get the 9th district? They want to de-MAGA the country. YOu will say that Michael Whatley is Trump endorsed. Now Stephen Aaron has worked for the party for a long time. He is from Gilmer County. He does not support his own county GOP. Why is Debbie so interested in the 9th district? Now in her endorsement for Stephen Aaron she never mentions that he is MAGA or America First. Debbie used to really dislike Stephen Aaron. Debbie Dooley knows Stephen Aaron and is pushing an establishment candidate against Donald Trump.
  • Debbie sends an email out this morning. She wants you to leave Donald Trump, leave MAGA and join her in supporting the establishment, Stephen Aaron. Stephen was a page for Senator Ralston in 2005. He is a life long politician. Stephen’s first campaign manager for Ralston’s 2014 re-election campaign. Where are his MAGA credentials? Debbie Dooley does not support Donald Trump. She now supports Brian Kemp. She goes on to say that by supporting Brian Parker in the 9th district you will get the GRA’s Accountability Rule. We are tired of the democrats buying the R and running under the republican name and winning elections. Real republicans want to stop the destruction of our counties by these establishment candidates.
  • When Salleigh Grubbs was chair and Sophia Farooq was a volunteer and ran her precinct and attended the meetings, nothing was said. But when Sophia Farooq wanted to run for chair, they hunted for Mary Clarice Hathaway, not a resident of Cobb county or the State. Debbie does a character assassination of Sophia Farooq and after the election Debbie runs to celebrate with Salleigh Grubbs on the election of Mary Clarice.
  • Debbie doesn’t attack Brian Parker for being a Trump supporter, being MAGA.
  • GA GOP sent out a 9 page NDA to get access to the delegates, the voters, email addresses and phone numbers. No one is going to sign this document, it is a volunteer position. They are interfering with an election.
  • Salleigh Grubbs is crying that David Cross doesn’t have a plan for the 1st vice chair. David Cross wants a delegate list and will send the plan to win in 2026 directly to the delegates. The last NDA in 2023 was a one page document, today it is a 9‑page NDA.
