Stephen Aaron, the new 9th district GOP chairman, opposes the accountability rule and bars party involvement in primaries, aligning with establishment goals. His opponent, Brian Parker, supports the Georgia Republican Assembly’s accountability rule, prompting Debbie Dooley’s email attack on Parker and BKP, to bolster Aaron. An example of why the accountability rule is needed, in Union County, part of the 9th district, former Democrat sole commissioner Lamar Paris was supported by Rep. Stan Gunter, a former Democratic DA now representing Georgia’s House District 8 as a republican. Despite Union and Towns counties’ 81% Trump support, Gunter backed Paris over a Republican candidate, raising questions about his alignment with GOP voters. This episode highlights establishment influence in a district with strong MAGA support, underscoring tensions between grassroots and leadership.

  • Stephen Aaron is the new chairman of the 9th district. He is totally against the accountability rule. And we are not allowed to get involved in primaries.
  • Debbie attacked BKP and put out an email about supporting Stephen Aaron. His opponent Brian Parker supports the GRA’s accountability rule.
  • In the state of GA there are 5 sole county commissioners. In Union county, there was a sole commissioner Lamar Paris, he was a democrat. GA state House district 8 held by Stan Gunter, he lives in Union county. Friday night there were accolades that money was put in to flip a 20 democrat seat to republican. Stan Gunter was at the table when it was said. Union county turned out 81% for Trump. Towns county was 81% for Trump. Do you think Towns and Union want a democrat representative. Stan Gunter campaigned and worked for Lamar Paris. Stan Gunter used to be the DA, he was elected as a democrat to be District Attorney of the Enotah Judicial Circuit.
  • The republican R of union county representative where they voted 81% for Trump. The representative didn’t support the republican who was running for the sole commissioner. Stan Gunter is the chairman of the Judiciary committee, he is also a member of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs, Appropriations, Economic Development and Tourism, Ethics, Health and Rules committee.
