President Donald Trump is visiting Capitol Hill to rally support for his 1,116-page “Big Beautiful Bill,” which the House Rules Committee will review at 1 a.m. The bill, consolidating 12 appropriations committee proposals, aims to overhaul taxes, boost defense, and fund border security while cutting Medicaid, SNAP, and green energy credits. Despite promises of separate bills, GOP leaders like Boehner and Ryan passed omnibus bills, and this megabill faces similar criticism. Hardline conservatives, including Rep. Andrew Clyde, demand a deeper, front-loaded deficit cuts, citing a projected $3–5 trillion debt increase over a decade. House Speaker Mike Johnson, backed by Trump after a Mar-a-Lago deal, faces a tight vote with only a slim majority. Reconciliation allows a 50+1 Senate vote, but internal GOP rifts and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s past call for Johnson’s removal complicate passage. Meanwhile, Trump’s Middle East trip with figures like Sam Altman, Elon Musk, and BlackRock sparks speculation about data centers as an exit strategy if the U.S. economy falters. Without immediate deficit reduction, critics warn of bankruptcy, as promised savings often fail to materialize.

  • Trump is going to Capitol Hill today to talk about the Big Beautiful Bill. The House rules committee set to take up Trump megabill at 1am. Boehner passed an omnibus. Paul Ryan passed an omnibus. How many big beautiful bills have passed when we were promised separate bills. GOP 1116 page big beautiful bill. We may be on our deathbed waiting for a republican to do what they have promised. We have watched the debt crisis, print money, watched them lie. You have 12 appropriations committees and they would pass their portion out of committee and would be voted on for every single 435 members of the house. None of these committee members know anything about the other appropriation bills. Once it comes out of the committee, it gets laid out on a stack. Now we have laid 12 bills from committees to pass in one bill. Trump is saying that we are so dysfunctional we need a big bill. Everything has to go in this one because we will never get another chance for another bill. The house is always a straight vote, 50+1. The senate is different, it has to have 60 votes to end debate to move to the floor for a 50+1 vote. In reconciliation, only one time a year to end debate the bill can end with 50+1.
  • Remember MTG called for Johnson’s removal. Donald Trump calls Mike Johnson to MAL to make a deal with him. Whether you like him or not, Trump made a deal with him. Increasing the debt ceiling is not a solution. At the end of the day nothing has changed.
  • If they don’t do something about the debt. The wealthiest people will pull up stakes and move to the Middle East. Just last week, Trump went to the Middle East and who went over there. Why did Sam Altman, Elon Musk, BlackRock line up to put data centers in the Middle East. Was it an exit plan if this county collapses? Unless we stop the clock from running north and put in a mechanism to stop the clock, we go bankrupt. The bill needs to be frontloaded with savings and everything else behind it. The deficit cutting never happens over the 10 years because after 4 years it changes or never gets implemented. Andrew Clyde wants more changes.
