The Youth Risk Behavior Survey (2013–2023) reveals a troubling rise in persistent sadness among students, reflecting broader societal shifts. Once a ticket to success in the 1960s, college degrees no longer guarantee jobs, with AI poised to eliminate half of entry-level white-collar roles and potentially spike unemployment to 10–20% in the next 1–5 years, per tech CEOs. Trump’s Stargate initiative, backed by a $500B investment from OpenAI, SoftBank, and Oracle, aims to build massive AI data centers, with $1T more projected over five years. His Middle East trip secured further investments, but concerns grew about a technological singularity—where superintelligent AI could outstrip human control, raising fears of human extinction as warned by experts like Stephen Hawking. Senator John Fetterman questions the implications in Congress. Explore the AI-driven future, its impact on jobs, and the trillion-dollar data center race.

  • Youth risk behavior survey, “between 2013 and 2023 the percentage of students who felt persistently sad or hopeless increased, continuing an increasing trend we have seen in previous years.” In the 1960s a college degree meant a good paying job but things started to shift in the 1970s. In 1985 every kid went to college. Now it is “why should I go to college” because a degree doesn’t guarantee a job. There will be a major shift.
  • Just in the last couple of days, there is a major explosion for everyone to try to prepare you for AI. It seems since Trump has come back from the Middle East all the networks are trying to prep you for AI takeover. Tech CEO says we could see half of entry level jobs disappear and 10–20% unemployment because of AI. Ready or not, AI is starting to replace people. Remember COVID, there were not enough workers for the stores. Employers are not going to allow that to happen again. They are not going to pay Fast Food workers $22/hour.
  • In a technological context, singularity refers to a hypothetical point in the future where technological growth becomes uncontrollable and irreversible leading to a radical and unpredictable transformation of reality. It’s often associated with AI reaching a superhuman level of intelligence and capability potentially surpassing human comprehension and control. Concerns and implications, potential for human extinction Some experts including Stephen Hawking have expressed concerns that a superintelligent AI could pose a threat to human survival.
  • A white collar bloodbath. AI could wipe out half of all entry level white collar jobs and spike unemployment.
  • When Trump came into office he had a press conference. Tech giants to invest up to $500B for new US data centers. OpenAI, Softbank and Oracle will fund the creation of 10 facilities during the initial phase of the Stargate initiative with an option to increase to 20. Then Trump went to the Middle East for a trillion dollars investment. The US data center market is projected to see investments exceeding $1 trillion over the next five years. The investments are in data and chips. Hyperscalers companies like Amazon, Google, Meta and Microsoft are driving a large portion of the data center demand with significant investments in hyperscale facilities. The Stargate project, a joint venture by Open AI softbank and Oracle, aims to invest $500 billion in AI data centers.
  • The increasing demand for AI and cloud computing services fuels the need for more data centers. The ongoing digital transformation across various industries is driving the need for robust data infrastructure. Governments are actively promoting data center development through tax incentives streamlining processes and providing support for power infrastructure development.
  • Keep in mind the Middle East is the first foreign trip that Trump makes. Trump took every major AI investor with him on the trip.
  • The man to bring it up in the Senate is John Fetterman. What happens when we reach the singularity point? All the investments are great but what will happen?
