The 2026 Georgia U.S. Senate race is shaping up as a battleground, with Rep. Mike Collins poised to run against Sen. Jon Ossoff, leveraging strong MAGA support and a likely Trump endorsement. Derek Dooley, son of UGA legend Vince Dooley, is assembling a team with Gov. Brian Kemp’s allies, while Insurance Commissioner John King, a Kemp and Trump supporter, is already in the race. Rep. Buddy Carter also joins the GOP primary, but Rep. Rich McCormick has ruled out a bid. Will Kemp and Trump seek a unified candidate, can MAGA and the establishment find common ground to challenge Ossoff?
- Things are getting ready to unfold in Georgia. WE have known for some time that Collins is going to run for US Senate. Now Vince Dooley’s son, Derek is putting a team together using Kemp’s people. John King is in the race, King was appointed by Brian Kemp as insurance commissioner. John King is very Trump friendly and very Kemp friendly.
- Across the country everything MAGA and are we headed back to the dark age of republican politics, the establishment. Brian Kemp has gone to Washington DC to talk to Trump, John Thune and Tim Scott. John Thune has come to GA for meetings with Brian Kemp. They are trying to find a candidate that Brian Kemp and Trump would be happy with. Can MAGA find a medium between Kemp and Trump? Then you have Buddy Carter from 1st district. Mike Collins will get the Trump support but will get the Kemp endorsement. Congressman Rich McCormick rules out a US Senate run in GA. McCormick wants to be a senator but once he stepped out to endorse Ron DeSantis, Trump would have released the hounds on this guy.
- Can you win without a Trump endorsement? Mike Collins has played the MAGA without the Trump endorsement win. Jon Ossoff doesn’t want to run against Mike Collins. The full announcement is coming Monday.
