A viral ad misspelling Georgia wasn’t from Rep. Mike Collins’ Senate campaign, but the media’s running with it as he challenges Sen. Jon Ossoff. The Senate confirmed Trump’s lawyer Emil Bove to an appeals court, despite no votes from Sens. Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski, as Trump’s appointee backlog keeps the Senate from recess. In Georgia, Collins, a Trump loyalist from the 10th district, gains endorsements, unlike rival Buddy Carter. Meanwhile, North Carolina’s GOP overrides its Democratic governor’s vetoes, highlighting risks for Georgia if Democrats win the governor’s race, where the powerful governor’s office could shift state dynamics without GOP legislative control.
- The media is all running Mike Collins 30 second ad where Georgia was misspelled. It was not his campaign staff that put out the ad.
- Senate confirms Emil Bove for appeals court post. Remember republicans have a 53–47 majority. 2 republicans voted no on this confirmation. The Senate will not go into recess because of the backlog of Trump’s appointees to the cabinet and judges. The power the senate has from getting their appointees, maybe that needs to take a look at it. They are slow walking the appointments. The 2 no votes are Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski.
- Mike Collins, the GA Senate candidate, is from the 10th district and running statewide for senate. He is not Lisa Murkowski, Susan Collins, or Mitch McConnell. He will support Trump and will vote to get Trump’s legislation through the Senate. You do not know Derek Dooley. We cannot trust Buddy Carter out of the 1st district. Mike Collins is start to get endorsements in the state.
- In the state of NC there is a concern. The arrogance we have in GA is that it is a given that we will have a republican governor and all constitutional offices. The democrats will make a run for the governor and secretary of state office. The first time that Stacey Abrams ran for office only losing by 50K votes. Republican lawmakers were meeting that if Stacey Abrams won, they would start stripping the powers of governor. The Governor of GA is the most powerful governor in the United States. In NC there is a democrat governor. NC republicans push through a contested agenda on Veto Override day. The divided state’s new democrat governor vetoed 14 bills this session, on guns, immigration trans rights and more. Republicans are trying to enact them all anyway. This will not work in Georgia, the numbers are not there if we had a democrat governor. An R in the governor’s mansion doesn’t mean that we will get good legislation that we can live with. But we don’t have the number in the chambers to make the changes necessary to operate with a democrat governor in Georgia.
