In this lively episode of BKP Politics on Voice of Rural America, host BKP recaps a whirlwind day including a cheerleading event turned political stunt, a three-hour Trump Cabinet meeting hailed as “productive” amid media mockery, and the Cracker Barrel logo fiasco that BKP calls a genius $1B marketing win after conservative backlash forced a reversal. BKP dives into Georgia Lt. Gov. Burt Jones’ explosive gubernatorial kickoff with 700 supporters and Trump ties, while warning of Democratic threats in special elections: Debra Shigley (D) advances to a September 23 runoff in red State Senate District 21 with 39.51% in a low-turnout jungle primary, and a democrat flips Iowa Senate District 1, ending the GOP supermajority. BKP slams Fulton County’s Democratic commissioners for defying a court order on election board appointments, facing a contempt hearing today (Aug. 27, 2025), and teases DNI Tulsi Gabbard’s bombshell on “secret burn bags” of 2020 election hoax docs. Amid GOP unity calls, BKP urges vigilance against a potential 2026 “blue wave” signaled by these upsets.

  • Trump’s Cabinet Meeting Highlights: BKP praises the August 26, 2025, three-hour televised session as “productive,” contrasting it with Biden’s absent meetings.
  • Cracker Barrel Logo Marketing Genius: BKP theorizes the August 2025 rebrand (ditching “Uncle Herschel” for minimalist design) was a deliberate stunt sparking conservative outrage, Trump social media post, and $1B in free publicity; after stock plunged 12% and backlash, Cracker Barrel reversed on Aug. 26, restoring the icon—BKP predicts revenue surge, unlike Bud Light’s flop, amid CEO DEI ties.
  • Burt Jones’ Gubernatorial Kickoff: On Aug. 26, 2025, in Flovilla (near Jackson hometown), Jones launched his 2026 bid with 700 attendees, Trump endorsement, and family focus; speakers included U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach and Trump advisor Bruce LeVelle; Jones pledged income tax elimination—counters AG Chris Carr’s lawsuit over $14M leadership funds, emphasizing his business roots and 2020 Trump loyalty.
  • Georgia Senate District 21 Jungle Primary Upset: In the Aug. 26 special election (low 14K turnout, $1M spent) to replace Brandon Beach (now U.S. Treasurer), Democrat Debra Shigley (Harvard lawyer, mom of 5) led with 39.51% (8,438 votes) vs. six Republicans; Jason Dickerson (R, 17.36%, 3,707 votes) edges Steve West (17.05%) for runoff on Sept. 23—BKP warns GOP split risks flip in red district (Beach won 70% in 2024), urging unity to block Democratic funding influx.
  • Iowa Senate District 1 Democratic Flip: On Aug. 26, Democrat Catelin Drey upset Republican Christopher Prosch in Sioux City-area special, flipping the Trump +11 district and ending GOP’s two-thirds supermajority (now 33–17); BKP sees it as 2026 “blue wave” signal after earlier Iowa Dem overperformance, criticizing GOP focus.
  • Fulton County Election Board Contempt Drama: Democratic commissioners (Barrett, Ivory, Pitts, Arrington, Abdur-Rahman) defied Judge David Emerson’s Aug. 4 order to appoint GOP nominees Jason Frazier and Julie Adams (election skeptics who challenged 2020 results), tying 2–2 on Aug. 20; Fulton GOP seeks $1K/day fines and 20-day jail in Aug. 27 hearing—BKP blasts it as “reckless” defiance undermining democracy, tying to broader integrity fights like PSC races and hand-marked ballot pilots.
  • Tulsi Gabbard’s ‘Secret Burn Bags’ Bombshell: DNI Gabbard revealed Aug. 26 discovery of undestroyed “burn bags” and hidden safes with 2020 election docs showing “politicization” by Brennan/Clapper causing “immeasurable harm”; Trump demands release, linking to Russia hoax and vulnerabilities in electronic voting—BKP calls for special prosecutor, praising Gabbard’s transparency push amid declassifications exposing Obama-era “coup.”
  • Broader Political Warnings: BKP reflects on narratives post-2010 midterms, urging GOP to fix “jungle primaries” (citing Loeffler-Warnock) and boost turnout for PSC Districts 2/3 races; teases Burt Jones event attendees (senators, Beach, Houston Gaines) and potential Raffensperger governor run; received fan card praising cursive revival amid video game distractions.
  • Can anyone out there name three or more of Biden’s cabinet members? Or how often they met during the administration. The media is complaining about Trump’s three hour cabinet meeting. Trump is making sure you are part of the meeting. Biden’s cabinet would only go to MSNBC and never mention about a cabinet meeting.
  • The Cracker Barrel logo change gave them free advertising when the CEO goes on the network to talk about the logo change and store remodels. It was a marketing campaign. When a stock dives there are people that make money and when it rises people make money. They get a billion dollars worth of free publicity if they play their cards right. All over America no matter where you are, every small town media is saying Cracker Barrel today. It doesn’t matter where you go this morning, you will get a Cracker Barrel news byte.
  • When studying politics you have to remember the narrative that the republicans will try to run, what they will try to get you to believe. But for years you have heard that the party is over and will never hold Congress again. And you will hear the same about democrats. Up until yesterday republicans had a super majority in the Iowa State Senate. Republicans had the power in the Senate in Iowa. The Senate race in Iowa that could signal a blue wave for the 2026 wave. Our eyes are open to what could happen if we don’t jump now. In the GA state Senate Seat special election last night a democrat pulled the majority of the vote in a red district, going into a run off in 30 days. The turnout was very low.
