Not to discount or minimize the several extremely destructive forest fires that plague California from time to time, no singular natural disaster event that occurred in 2024 can match Septembers visit by Hurricane Helene to Western North Carolina. That storm, first bringing its expected rains, high winds and flooding to Florida with the associated damage of high tides, was foreseen and expected. But, the shocking level of destruction that that one storm brought to Western North Carolina, over thirty inches of rain, wasn’t. The cities of Asheville, Spruce Pine, Boone, Chimney Rock and other smaller villages, filling in recent years with people escaping the growing violence and “wokeisms” infecting big cities, staggers the imagination.

What is to be learned from this singular disastrous event? First, we realize we can abandon all hope that we can depend on the federal government for anything but mischief! In the hands of incompetents, it has demonstrated again and again that it is unprepared to respond to the immediate needs of Americans in disasters, the welfare of veterans or the homeless. Their failure to provide in the wake of Helene, amounted to a betrayal of the American taxpayer. Secondarily, we saw it was American volunteers from local communities, churches, the Salvation Army and multiple outside organizations that stepped up uncompensated, to render immediate aid for the relief of survivors. It was not FEMA or the Red Cross! Volunteerism saw a Michigan fire department show up to render search and rescue assistance, police departments from other states showing up with cadaver dogs to seek bodies buried under layers of mud and private helicopter pilots immediately showing up to extract stranded survivors and deliver food and water where they could. The power companies from several states rallied to support Floridas power loss problems but also North Carolinas. So, where was FEMA? They weren’t there and when they did show up, late, they attempted to direct food and other donations to their sites for dispensing to assert some level of federal control to cover-up their incompetence. Power Company’s are the only truly prepared organizations ready to confront natural disasters. By the way, they use fossil fuels to generate power, drive their vehicles and cook meals.

But the disappointments abound. Bureaucracy has even tainted local governments. One pilot was threatened with arrest allegedly for violating the jealously claimed proprietary interest of a local Deputy Fire Chief if he continued his rescue efforts. That Chief had no authority to do that, just jealousy. If there was some authority to make such threats it simply shows there is too many government regulations. That always results in wasted resources. North Carolina’s National Guard did respond immediately with helicopters, earth moving equipment and even mobile kitchens but no one ordered out the Army. The Army is being saved to confront MAGA protestors after the election. Biden’s government is a clown show. “When a clown moves into a palace he doesn’t become a king, the palace becomes a circus.”

Funds allocated by Congress to FEMA for emergencies were instead squandered by our Marxist government to transport, feed, house and educate the children of millions of illegal alien invaders. What does that tell us? It tells us there is no Congressional oversight. It also tells us the Biden administration is pursuing the Marxist rule on how to destroy governments, by overwhelming their resources to collapse governments ability to serve citizens and aliens alike. This creats chaos that Progressives tell us only they can bring under control if we let them. That’s where totalitarism is born. Not to drift from the point but the control of funds by corrupt politicians, many in Congress in league with special interests, is the main point to be addressed, primarily FEMA now under the Cabint level administrative authority of Homeland Security (Alejandro Myorkus). FEMA should either be separated from DHS or Congress should re-establish its legislative responsibility with laws forbidding allocated funds to be used for any other purpose than that specified. This should especially apply to suborning immigration laws to conform to the New World Orders agenda to have open borders world wide.

Remember, freedom is the goal, the Constitution is the way. Now, go get ready. (03Nov24)
