Bureaucracy plagues all government levels, with calls for DOGE-style reforms intensifying. Georgia Governor Brian Kemp is fiercely pushing SB68, a rewrite of state litigation rules aimed at lowering insurance costs, threatening to back primary challengers against GOP lawmakers who weaken it and hinting at a special session if it fails—tactics he avoided for election reviews or Fani Willis due to cost concerns. Critics, including constitutional lawyer Catherine Bernard, warn the hard-to-interpret bill erodes 7th Amendment jury trial rights, questioning its urgency given its absence from Kemp’s re-election focus two years ago and Georgia’s low lawsuit ranking. A robust PR campaign touts benefits, contrasting with quieter past legislation, raising suspicions about Kemp’s motives and lawmakers’ autonomy.

  • Bureaucracy has happened on every level of government. DOGE needs to happen at every level.
  • Brian Kemp is staking his legislative agenda on passing a rewrite of GA litigation rules. The governor is worried enough about a revolt from fellow republicans that he took the extraordinary step of threatening to back primary challengers to any GOP lawmakers who vote for an amendment that waters down the overhaul. This is signature legislation. Why is this so important? Why wasn’t it so important 2 years ago when he was going for re-election. It is being said that the legislation is hard to interpret and that judges will have difficulty. Now it is being reported to lower insurance costs. Your lawmakers are not allowed to represent their districts. The lawmakers are told what they are going to support and what Kemp will sign.
  • Catherine Bernard is a constitutional lawyer saying that SB68 is a bad bill that continues the trend of chopping away at the core 7th amendment jury trial rights.
  • There has been a huge PR campaign pushing the bill and all its promises of lowering insurance rates. There have been bills passed that have had zero PR campaigns. GA ranks the bottom of the list for liability lawsuits.
  • Kemp has threatened to call a special session if lawmakers don’t pass the legislation. When he wouldn’t call a special session to review Fani Willis and to review the election. They would give the excuse of what it would cost. Now he will call everyone in for lobbyists.
  • Why all of a sudden is Kemp speaking out about the Trump administration in a positive way and praising the immigration. There is video that Kemp has not done anything regarding immigration as reported by Tom Homan years ago.
  • US Rep Rich McCormick had a town hall. It was a set up over the DOGE firing of CDC. liberals packed the meeting on purpose. It was all staged for the indicator for democrats in 2026.
