Andrew Clyde, a strong Trump ally, is ide­al for ral­ly­ing con­ser­v­a­tive vot­ers and fundrais­ing but faces a 2026 pri­ma­ry chal­lenge from Gainesville May­or Sam Cou­vil­lon, backed by Gov­er­nor Bri­an Kemp and busi­ness inter­ests. Kemp’s sup­port for Cou­vil­lon and poten­tial Sen­ate run sug­gests a strat­e­gy to under­mine Trump’s agen­da, pos­si­bly aid­ing Democ­rats in retak­ing the House. A Demo­c­ra­t­ic House could obstruct Trump, weak­en­ing JD Vance’s 2028 pres­i­den­tial prospects and posi­tion­ing Kemp as a con­tender. Despite the chal­lenge, Clyde is like­ly to retain his seat but may be side­lined from nation­al GOP efforts.

• Andrew Clyde is the per­fect can­di­date to go across the coun­try to go into these dis­tricts that need a con­ser­v­a­tive voice or help raise mon­ey. He is a good can­di­date to get the Trump vote back out. Now he has an oppo­nent, Gainesville May­or Sam Cou­vil­lon. He has raised $250K. He is so seri­ous of a can­di­date that he has Bri­an Kemp help­ing him to unseat Andrew Clyde. Metro Atlanta and the Cham­ber of Com­merce are beg­ging Bri­an Kemp to get into the race for the Sen­ate race as if Kemp is the sav­ior for Geor­gia. Clyde will win the seat again, but he will not be able to go around the coun­try to raise mon­ey or sup­port oth­er can­di­dates. In the big umbrel­la Bri­an Kemp is work­ing to help oth­er democ­rats win, for a pos­si­ble domi­no effect that democ­rats could take back the house. If democ­rats take back the house and work against Trump and things aren’t look­ing so great for Trump that JD Vance won’t have a chance. Giv­ing Kemp a chance for pres­i­dent.
