The Georgia Hour, episode 72: Georgia GOP Rocked by Credit Card Scandal and Leadership Turmoil

Josh McKoon, Georgia GOP chairman, admitted to using the party’s credit card for personal expenses like gym memberships after social media exposure. His wife, Jacqueline McKoon, named president/CEO of the Butts County Chamber of Commerce, is linked to the controversy online. Travis Bowden, McKoon’s senior advisor and former GA GOP Inc. executive director, was reportedly fired, replaced by Justin Rice from the RNC. Despite his termination, Bowden received payments in December 2024, raising oversight concerns. Bowden claims his name won’t appear in FEC filings. Governor Brian Kemp announced on May 5, 2025, he won’t run for Senate in 2026. Critics demand GOP leaders retract support for McKoon, warning that without grassroots action, Republicans risk losing Georgia in 2026. Additional questionable GA GOP charges fuel mismanagement allegations. Debbie Dooley is tasked with promoting JaQuon, though details are vague. The scandals expose GA GOP’s internal rifts, threatening its unity and electoral future.

  • Josh admitted that he used the GA GOP credit card for personal items because he was caught. Jacqueline McKoon was named president/CEO of Butts county Chamber of Commerce. She is making the rounds on social media with the credit card charges.
  • Travis Bowden was let go as his duties with the GA GOP. He has recently made a statement that he will not be found on the FEC statements.
  • Brian Kemp made an announcement yesterday that he will not seek the senate race in Georgia. Everyone and Anyone needs to remove their endorsement of McKoon if they expect to win. And if the grassroots are not in place to remove the swamp and get to work, republicans will lose Georgia in 2026.
  • Travis Bowden is the senior advisor to Josh McKoon, chairman of the GA GOP. He was the executive director of the GA GOP Inc. the RNC sent in Justin Rice from NC to replace Travis. When Travis left he was not supposed to receive any more money, the executive board was told Travis was fired. Travis got payment in December 2024. Maybe Josh will answer for this or maybe Travis will answer for this?
  • More questionable charges by the GA GOP.
  • Debbie Dooley has been given the assignment to elevate JaQuon.
