Georgia GOP Financial Controversies and 2026 Election Dynamics

Alle­ga­tions ques­tion whether the Geor­gia GOP (GAGOP) is fund­ing media appear­ances for Katie Frost, sug­gest­ing favoritism, and claim Travis Bow­den received a $7,500 Christ­mas bonus after leav­ing the GAGOP, rais­ing con­cerns about finan­cial mis­con­duct. Gov. Bri­an Kemp’s deci­sion not to chal­lenge Sen. Jon Ossoff in 2026, announced at a Sea Island donor event, shifts focus to oth­er GOP con­tenders like Reps. Mike Collins, Bud­dy Carter, and Mar­jorie Tay­lor Greene (MTG). Burt Jones and Chris Carr, despite ques­tion­able MAGA cre­den­tials, court­ed donors, with Jones linked to paper bal­lots and Carr only recent­ly align­ing with Trump. MTG’s poten­tial Sen­ate or guber­na­to­r­i­al run could open her 14th dis­trict, though her Sen­ate bid wor­ries D.C. Repub­li­cans despite pos­si­ble Trump sup­port. A Kan­diss Tay­lor can­di­da­cy in the 1st dis­trict could com­pli­cate mat­ters if Carter runs for Sen­ate. Keisha Lance Bot­toms is eye­ing a guber­na­to­r­i­al bid, while Gabriel Ster­ling and pos­si­bly Josh McK­oon are run­ning for Sec­re­tary of State, inten­si­fy­ing Georgia’s 2026 polit­i­cal land­scape

• Is the GA GOP pay­ing for media hits for Katie Frost? Travis Bow­den nego­ti­at­ed his christ­mas bonus yet he was no longer employed by the GA GOP?
• We have a big deal with Bri­an Kemp say­ing he is not run­ning for US Sen­ate against Jon Ossoff. This announce­ment hap­pened at Seas Island where all the donors con­verge to hear from can­di­dates as they per­form for their mon­ey. Burt Jones and Chris Carr meet with donors. Burt Jones is not nec­es­sar­i­ly the most MAGA but with his dona­tions and his fam­i­ly dona­tions to Trump he is able to wear the MAGA hat, but his actions are not. GA still has paper bal­lots with Burt Jones as Lt Gov­er­nor. Now Chris Carr just found his Trump sup­port, after years of sup­port­ing lib­er­al poli­cies. Carr and Jones danced for the donors yes­ter­day. 
• We are wait­ing on Mike Collins in the 10th dis­trict and Bud­dy Carter in the 1st to run for sen­ate. The AJC is play­ing the game with MTG and she is play­ing right into it. If MTG runs for any­thing the 14th dis­trict is open. Now if MTG runs for either gov­er­nor or sen­a­tor she could win the pri­ma­ry. AJC has done every­thing to nor­mal­ize her to run for sen­ate. DC is not excit­ed about her run­ning for sen­ate. If she becomes the sen­ate can­di­date and gets the Trump endorse­ment what will that do? 
• There is a prob­lem in the 1st dis­trict prob­lem if Bud­dy Carter steps out with Kan­diss Tay­lor pos­si­ble run. 
• Kiesha Lance Bot­toms, for­mer may­or of Atlanta, is get­ting ready for gov­er­nor. 
• Gabriel Ster­ling is run­ning for Sec­re­tary of State. It is pos­si­ble that Josh McK­oon is run­ning SOS in Geor­gia.
