Uncover the controversy surrounding Georgia GOP Chairman Josh McKoon, accused of trading endorsements for power and profiting from a massive salary hike from $177K in 2022 to $228K in 2024. Allegations of financial mismanagement, questionable FEC report charges, and “smurfing” raise red flags, while a failed forensic audit attempts sparks suspicion. Despite claims of supporting Trump, McKoon’s actions fuel division. Explore the internal battles, leadership endorsements, and why the Georgia Republican Party is accused of prioritizing money over unity. The Georgia Republican Party under Josh McKoon is embroiled in controversy over financial transparency, endorsement deals, and internal divisions. Allegations of mismanagement, resistance to a forensic audit, and failure to support key legal defenses have eroded trust. Leadership endorsements, particularly from figures like Burt Jones, and the party’s failure to address competitive races or push back on legislation like HB581 further highlight its challenges.
- Josh McKoon has made deals for the endorsements to keep this position. It is all about money. Keep in mind Josh McKoon has gone from 2022, $177K a year to in 2024, $228K a year. The value for him to be in the position of chairman would no longer exist.
- The rumor that David Cross doesn’t support Donald Trump is a lie. There was a resolution submitted at a State Committee meeting to support Donald Trump before the primary. Now Josh McKoon stood in front of the room to say that the rule could be changed to support a candidate before a primary. This was a vote to change the rule. The rule change failed. There were several people in the room that are hard core Donald Trump supporters that voted no. The republican party of Georgia only knows how to attack and hate each other. That vote was set up to create hate and division. Josh McKoon has always facilitated hate, anger and division. There was a vote from the state committee to not release the vote, but there are pictures from the vote that have circulated the internet.
- You keep hearing that forensic audit implies wrongdoing and signing FEC reports under penalty of perjury. Josh has said that the finances of the GA GOP have been handled the same way for 15 years.
- Now on the surface of the review of the FEC reports we have some questionable charges and bonuses for Christmas. Then it was found that there were all these refunds that were given. Chris Gleason was on The Georgia Show last night. There are 91 pages of smurfing. There may be something inappropriate happening.
- If you have a chairman and operation, let’s say for 15 years we don’t have a forensic audit, only a financial review with millions of dollars cash in cash out and every 2 years new hands on the vaults. Why does a forensic audit make them nervous? David Shafer had $48M that went through the GA GOP.
- We had an opportunity to do a national campaign to raise legal funds for David Shafer, Cathy Lathem and Shawn Stills. And it didn’t happen.
- Laurie McClain needs to be elected and Josh McKoon does not need to be elected on Saturday.
- Saturday while Delegates was on a facebook forum, Josh was at a fundraiser for Lt Gov Burt Jones. And Burt Jones is wearing a Josh McKoon campaign sticker. Leadership in the state of Georiga should have stayed out of the endorsements.
- Brian Kemp and David Shafer do not like each other, Brian Kemp accused David of endorsing candidates against him. Josh McKoon should not be standing in pictures with candidates.
- Wearing the MAGA hat is not MAGA.
- We will have several districts that are won by less than 100 votes. If you are in one of these contested races, you will have a GA GOP that will be interested in your race. There are about 8 districts that are close.
- Why doesn’t the GA GOP push back on the House for HB581. The republican House of representatives are not supporting taxpayers. They are supporting lobbyists and bond companies.
- Senate Pro Tem John F Kennedy is running for Lt Governor, Brian Kemp’s pick.
- John King Insurance commissioner is running for US Senate. Who is running for insurance commissioner?
