Lori talks about Stephens co commissioners, property taxes, teachers protesting, and more

Stephens county commissioners are meeting today at 3pm at the courthouse to talk about mileage rates. It is humorous that they schedule the meeting at 3pm when the people that are paying their taxes are the ones that are working. The meeting is an education on how mileage rates come to be and how they are factored. The lowest mileage rates are Fannin, Union, Gilmer, Dade counties the highest is Fulton. The county insurances and services are going up and when the county doesnt grow the citizens have to share the burden of the increased prices for services and payroll for the county. Lori was a fan of SPLOST for everyone to share the burden of the county. TSPLOST came to be. There isn’t any accountability for the money. Lori wants counties to have citizens to be a group that will oversee where the money is going on these programs.

Stephens County GOP is having an ice cream social.

Push to have counties Live Stream their commissioner meetings.

There is a group of Gwinnett county teachers protesting to ditch the masks from the school year. The group will meet at the GCPS ISC BLDG on July 21 at 6:15.

In San Diego, the school system is saying that if the students come to school without masks they will be turned away and not to bother coming to school if they cant abide by the rules.
