OPINION: Every Vote Is Important
Submitted by W. Jule Windham
We have all heard people say that all politicians are bad so they dont vote, or people say they dont vote because such and such is going to win anyway. At some level these comments are understandable, but not this year. The races in Georgia are all too close to call. So, everyones vote is important. And there is a significant difference between the Republican and Democratic candidates this year.
The Democrats control the Presidency, the House of Representatives, and the Senate, yet they blame the Republicans for all the problems our nation is experiencing. If you like high gas prices, paying off other folks student debt, demoralized law enforcement, open borders, increased crime, Afghanistan like military operations, and inflation, then dont vote or vote Democratic. You will be guaranteeing that you and your family will experience more of the effects provided by the current national leadership. And our elected Georgia delegation in Washington has been right in there voting for these disastrous policies almost 100% of the time. They may be good folks, but they are simply a rubber stamp for Joe Biden.
At the State level in Georgia, we have been fortunate not to have the elected crazies we see at the national level, but that is only one vote away. A Kemp Campaign representative recently stated the Georgia Governors race is too close to call, due to some Republicans stating they would not vote because they are mad about the 2020 presidential election improprieties. Thats right. Republicans show the folks how upset you are by contributing to the election of a Democratic-socialist to the Governors office. Get over it! Trump got beat fairly or unfairly, but that race is over and unless the Republicans get out and vote with their brains, Georgia will lose a very qualified and experienced governor. We will then have all the benefits Joe Biden and his Democratic party has brought to our nation at our state level. If you think there was some improprieties in the 2020 election, imagine what will happen in the 2024 election if Stacey Abrams is our Governor. Peoples pets may be able to vote — twice.
Fortunately, at the State level the Governor and other state elected officials have had their challenges, but compared to other states, Georgia has done very well these last two years, and contrary to some candidates comments, Georgia IS a great place to live. If we want to keep Georgia from becoming Washington, Vote! It has never been more important. The number of votes cast in Macon County can literally be the difference in the upcoming election. Please vote and vote for candidates that represent the average Georgian and not the crazies in Washington.
In other words, vote Republican.
