OPINION: Candidate Quality Counts

Submitted by George McClellan

Its all over but the shouting. At first glance the predicted Red Tidal Wave has become a trickle, a trump dream (pun intended) about returning America to its Constitutional roots. Indeed Donald Trump’s public hesitation about his own future election prospects and his anointed candidates not shining as expected, suggests a GOP presidential primary fight in 2024 of epic proportions. The next President will be a Republican but who? Florida Governor Ron DeSantis swept his challenger, former Republican, turned Independent, turned Democrat Charlie Crist, away. Crist, a Congressman, even lost his House seat to a Republican.

Conservative victories come in small, often painful dabs but the big lesson here is that quality candidates count referring to candidates put forth by the GOP for these important seats. Georgia’s senatorial race is a case in point. We all love Hershel Walker but would we have put him up against a white progressive incumbent, instead of the Rev. Warnock? Probably not! Heisman trophies are not indicative of possessing the political skills needed to represent Georgia’s electorate. Governor DeSantis however, has unequivocally shown us how to govern successfully. He has set the parameters for bulldog conservative political leadership. Future GOP contenders take note. RiNOs take note. The GOP doesnt always have to be losers.

Remaining incoming election results might suggest enough Americans would embrace socialism as America’s future so as to ensure diversity, equity and inclusiveness for all, but maybe it really suggest people are getting sick and tired of politicians of both parties. Election victories at the grassroots level may be just slim enough for the GOP to barely switch the House Red disposing of the odious Nancy Pelosi. Even the Senate, at days end, might become GOPs by a seat or two but its not a mandate by any means. A continued Democrat majority in Congress will insure continued political confusion, attacks against conservatives and equal poverty for all. We discern a desperate need for restructuring our system of higher education removing it from Federal influences. Universities are turning out dimwit voters for Progressives voter success. Another possible reason for our dismal showing is that many of these 2022 elections disappointments is because conservative voters have fled Blue states to Red ones.

This 2022 election will be scrutinized in detail because Democrats, whose past successful record of manipulating voting polls, ballot stuffing and canvassing graveyards for voters, having proved them right, see no reason to stop. Eastern polls closed first and the report that an incompetent neanderthal looking tattooed Democrat senatorial candidate who recently suffered a stroke, winning over a successful Republican TV personality and medical doctor, staggers the imagination. It also suggests Democrats still control the machinery of elections in Pennsylvania but, they have to, its in their nature to lie, cheat and steal to retain power ignoring quality. But, voters when interviewed exiting the polls about voting their preferences indicated that abortion was their main driving issue for electing Fetterman. Can we believe them? Actually, abortion ranks very low on all other lists of whats important.

Undecided races like Arizona’s, especially the over populated Maricopa County where the Democrats old trick of incidental machine failures has delayed the vote count, giving time for Democrats to find other uncounted ballots in some poll workers car trunk and claiming racism if they are not counted, is a standard ploy. Something is wrong when Arizonas Secretary of State who controls elections, is the Democrat Candidate for Governor, and a hopeless candidate to boot, may actually win. Thats pending getting the machines fixed.

Incumbent governors kept their seats. Against all common sense it appears Gretchen Whitmer easily kept her governorship and voters polled after they cast their votes also cited abortion as the reason she remains in office. New York Democrat governor Hochul inexplicably, easily defeated the Republican challenger while other NY state office holder contests turned Red. Candidate Quality matters. The bright spot remains Florida.

How has former President Trump’s delayed announcement about his future candidacy affect the election? Probably adversely. He has amassed a $122million dollar war chest and didnt use it. He did insult Governor DeSantis off handedly, and his candidate recommendations didnt sweep the goals as expected. Has The Donald lost his luster and, will he now in fact, reconsider a third run for President? He should if only to keep the Democrats in constant agitation and work to destroy the Socialists in our government. Stand By!

Republicans, having failed to sweep the national elections, reveals two possible future outcomes. People are getting sick and tired of both lackluster parties. Inevitably, a future socialist America will be headed for a permanent rearrangement of political priorities that ignore the Constitution. Deep Staters, including RiNOs, will continue working hard to maintain the odious apparatus of corruption so carefully constructed over the decades. Election deniers will become enemies of the state, face arrests, trial and imprisonment and the FBI will not be cleansed. Instead, its mission will be solidified as the Democrats office of political compliance. The second outcome is the continuance of political violence from the Lefts supporters. The Democrats want it so they can push conservatives to the point that just to survive they will have to fight back. In short, a civil war of sorts.

If the GOP does barely end up controlling the House under Speaker McCarthy, under the circumstances, dont expect a quick purge of criminals in the deep state, nor a rearrangement of the FBIs mission or a reduction in the size of a burgeoning Federal Bureaucracy. Too, if the House does become the GOPs on that very slim margin we might expect some serious challenges to Speaker McCarthys leadership. Its quality that counts.

Remember, freedom is the goal, the Constitution is the way. Now, go get em! (09Nov22)
